|ET MODEL - Panther A/G Damaged Road Wheels|
A look at what could be a very effective addition to a workshop scene!
Panther A/G Damaged Road Wheels
Manufacturer: ET Model
Material: Resin & Photo-etch
Serial Number: ER35-036
ET Model from China has a rapidly expanding catalogue of photo-etched and detail sets for a wide variety of kits in varying scales, together with a very prolific release schedule. This complete set of replacement wheels is intended for the Dragon kit.
The set is provided in one of the normal transparent plastic wallets that ET Model use, stapled to a cardboard header. Inside there are four small photo-etched brass frets, eight cream-coloured resin wheels and eight resin hubs, all supplied still attached to their pouring blocks. All of the eight road wheels and the eight hubs have parts of the rib that attaches them to their pouring blocks attached to their rims, so will need to be removed extremely carefully if damage is to be avoided, although some of the road wheels have photo-etched rims supplied that would help cover any unintentional damage.
There are a number of various combinations the road wheels could be used on, although it is not limitless, since there is only two of each type supplied. However, the hubs can be placed in various positions etc., dependent on how many wheels you want to depict as being missing etc.
The four small photo-etched frets supplied have the outer rims as mentioned, bolt links for the hubs, a ring spanner and adjustable wrench for use in 'dressing up' any scene or diorama. If you're unsure about where to place the damaged road wheels, there's a small instruction slip included too.
Although skilful modeller's can produce their own damaged wheels by removing the plastic on the kit part that represents the tyre, it's more difficult when it comes to obtaining realistic hubs where the wheel has been removed completely. Plus those photo-etched rims provide an extra touch of realism. For the cost, and the added realism this set could add to you diorama, this is well worth the money!
My thanks to ET MODEL for the review sample.
